Current IT architecture in many organizations comprises large monolithic applications which are expensive, back-office oriented and difficult to change. In the last decade, personal computing has seen dramatic changes with the advent of mobile devices, social networking technologies, and seamless communication. Unfortunately, a lot of these changes have not permeated the corporate environment as much as they should have. There is an urgent need to re-architect IT within the corporation, through:
· A "front-office" focus
· Use of Web 2.0 Technologies and Social Networks
· Integration of mobile devices, technologies such as RFIDs, embedded chips etc. into the enterprise’s value-chain.
